Project Description
An overview of zero waste; an analysis of which city operations and practices are common to all departments and can be managed via standard recycling programs. An analysis of which departments or operations generate unique wastes that require special handling.
I determined that purchasing is fundamental: what do we buy and why, what can we do without, what are better (recyclable/compostable) alternatives; how should purchasing processes and specifications re revised.
Recommendations for integrating zero waste by means of audits; bolstering zero waste practices via mandatory zero waste training.
